Thato Mokhothu

Ms. Thato Mokhothu was born and raised in Bloemfontein, Free State. She is a proud mother of three, a dedicated sister, and a mentor to many.

Thato pursued a Sales and Marketing course through Damelin College and has actively participated in various enterprise development programs, including:
– The Women Empowerment Program at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) for NHBRC cohort participants.
– The Eskom Contractor Programme through the University of Limpopo.
– The Future Dealership Owners Program at Tshwane University of Technology.

She has also earned a certificate of attendance for the Capacity Building Program on Conflict Resolution, Negotiation, and Mediation for South African women, hosted by the Diplomatic Academy and International School. Recently, she completed a seminar on the Construction and Management of Development Areas for South Africa in China (2024).

Thato has made a significant impact in the business sector, particularly in male- dominated industries such as construction and automotive. As a founding member of RTT Construction RTT Consulting Engineering Firm and RTT Africa Legacy, she focuses on projects that extend beyond South Africa’s borders. Through strategic partnerships with companies from Zambia, Brazil, and Spain, she is helping RTT become fully operational in infrastructure programs both within South Africa and internationally.

A passionate business leader, Thato is committed to empowering women ,youth and people with disabilities in business. She actively mentors and provides opportunities for women and youth to engage in trade across all African countries through her involvement in the Pan African Chamber of Commerce and the Phenomenal Women Chamber of Commerce.

Thato also plays an active role in supporting the Pan African Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PWCCI),an organization that helps women access skills development, transport, and business opportunities. The organization has partnered with institutions like the University of the Free State , North-West University and the University of Johannesburg to further these goals.

As a motivational speaker, Thato focuses on uplifting youth, women, and people living with disabilities by creating platforms for development. Through her Thato M Foundation she has partnered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) in Free State to run mentorship programs aimed at building the capacity of women and youth in the construction industry.
