Mr. Opiyo Makoude is an evaluation researcher and policy analyst. He was the principal investigator in the just concluded landscape analysis for the African Union (AU) and GMT on Women & Youth Financial & Economic Inclusion (WYFEI) in Africa.

Makoude has over 26 years of experience in managing and evaluating donor-funded projects in the Eastern Africa region and sub-Saharan Africa across multiple sectors, which include education (systems) quality improvement; women and youth financial inclusion; human rights (civil liberties, persons with disabilities, women, youth and children’s rights); health and health systems strengthening; and economic governance and public sector management. Until November 2023, Makoude worked as the Technical Research Advisor on the Back2School project at the Graca Machel Trust. Makoude currently works as the Research and Evaluation Director at Innovia Research Consulting.
