Jane Mbinya Muia – Investment Officer, Afrishela
Jane has over 14 years’ experience in financial services including over 6 years’ experience in women’s economic empowerment, research analysis, impact and gender lens investing.
She has worked closely with entrepreneurs and SMEs advising them on matters related to business model and strategy, financial modelling, valuation and analysis, investor readiness, financial planning and cashflow management.
At Graça Machel Trust, where she holds the role of Senior Investment Officer, she has supported the design of Afrishela fund, supported the execution of several capacity building programs targeted at women entrepreneurs and been instrumental in facilitating linkages to early-stage women enterprises through investor showcases and providing funding readiness support to these businesses.
She has a passion women’s entrepreneurship and for engaging both entrepreneurs and the ecosystem to channel innovative financing to women businesses especially those in the early growth stage. Keen on the use of innovative financing to reach underserved market segments and create sustainable impact. Employs her technical finance skills and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders as needed to drive this.
She is raising two global citizens who she trusts will also meaningfully shape the spaces where they live and work. Loves travel and leisure reading.
